Our Beginnings
Troop 23 chartered with the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America on April 30, 1955 with six boys and seven adult leaders. Our first Scoutmaster was Frank E. Jeffers Jr. Under his skillful and dedicated leadership, the troop expanded in membership and purpose. By 1965 boy membership had increased to 65 and adult leadership to 15. Succeeding Scoutmasters, adult leaders and Scouts have contributed to a Scouting unit that consistently advances the Aims of Scouting.
