What We Do

Committed to a youth-led program, Troop 23 participates in all phases of Scouting, both at the local and national levels. Troop activities include an annual week long Summer Camp in Wisconsin, frequent campouts, shooting sports (rifle, shotgun and archery), canoeing and kayaking the Fox River and Lake Michigan, wilderness survival, cold-weather camping, and rock climbing at Devils Lake. The troop’s High Adventure Programs for older Scouts have included backpacking in New Mexico at Philmont Scout Ranch, sailing and skin-diving at the Florida Sea Base and canoeing the Boundary Waters in Minnesota and Canada. Closer to home, Troop 23 takes great pride in its role as a cornerstone of Wheaton’s Annual Memorial Day Parade. If you have attended the Parade, you have seen our unit marching with our collection of Historical American Flags donated by our Eagle Scouts.
